Town of Gingles November 13, 2024 Meeting Minutes

The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, Patrick Colgrove. Tom Riemer, Bill Pearce, Traci Beiersdorff and Laura Martinsen were present. There were 2 people in public attendance.

  • The October, 2024 minutes were presented, and a motion was made by Tom Bill Pearce, seconded by Tom Riemer to approve them as written. All in favor, motion carried.
  • The October, 2024 Treasurer’s report was presented, and a motion was made by Tom Riemer and seconded by Bill Pearce to approve the report as presented. All in favor, motion carried. Brief discussion regarding bill in October from #2 Septic and Excavating.

Comments by Clerk/Board – Chairman identified that resident in the township was had talked about opening up a business [selling antiques] out of his garage on Beaser Road. Other residents in that area have discussed concerns with the possibility of increased traffic coming in and out. Chairman discussed current zoning in that area is zoned as residential and discussed specifics about zoning in the township as a whole. More to come at future meetings.

OLD BUSINESS:

  • Roads:

    • Needed Patching Before Winter: Chairman provided insight that another round of patching/mowing is needed on some of the roads within the township. This should be done in the next couple of days.
    • Animal Carcass Removal Policy: Chairman presented written policy on animal carcass removal to the board for discussion. A motion was made by Bill Pearce to approve the animal carcass removal policy as written. Motion was seconded by Tom Riemer to approve. All in favor, motion carried.
    • Project Discussion- Beaser Road Project [LRIP]: Chairman has met with local engineer in the township about the specifics of the project. Chairman indicated he will also plan to speak with Division of Lands regarding application timelines and when to start project. More to come at future meetings.
    • Culvert Removal & Install: Chairman indicated the project be put out to bid for removal of the culvert and replacement shortly. Discussion regarding the specifics of the project were also discussed.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Road Projects for 2025: Chairman provided board a document outlining road projects slated for 2025 with approximate costs. Discussion amongst board member regarding projects needing to be completed next year.
  • Adopt 2025 Budget and Tax Levy: A motion was made by Bill Pearce to approved the 2025 Proposed Budget and Tax Levy. Motion was seconded by Tom Riemer to approve. All in favor, motion carried.
  • Operators Licenses: Caroline Klein, new Owner of The Gathering Barn, presented to the board for full liquor license approval. Town Clerk had granted a provisional liquor license at last month’s meeting to allow for proper timelines/notice and background checks to be completed. A motion was made by Bill Pearce to approve the regular liquor license to Caroline & Richard Klein/The Gathering Barn. Motion was seconded by Tom Riemer, to approve. All in favor, motion carried.
  • Building/Driveway Permits: A motion was made by Pat Colgrove to approve a building permit for Benjamin Hinrichsen. Motion was seconded by Bill Pearce to approve. All in favor, motion carried.
  • Public Comment: None

-The next regular monthly board meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 7:00 PM.

-The bills were submitted and authorized to be paid by Board signature.

-Meeting was adjourned.
