Meeting Minutes
The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, Patrick Colgrove. Tom Riemer, Traci Beiersdorff and Laura Martinsen were present. William Pearce absence was excused. There were 5 people in public attendance.
- The February 2025 meeting minutes were presented, and a motion was made by Tom Riemer, seconded by Pat Colgrove to approve them as written. All in favor, motion carried.
- The February 2025 Treasurer’s report was presented, and a motion was made by Pat Colgrove and seconded by Tom Riemer to approve the report as presented. All in favor, motion carried.
Comments by Clerk/Board – Town Clerk identified that they had received an email from Wisconsin Election Commission [WEC] regarding a Polling Place Accessibility Report. The report was sent as the Gingles Town Hall was reviewed for accessibility at the 2025 Spring Primary Election. The email contains a few recommendations regarding accessibility that the Town should follow; recommendations do not need to be attended to prior to next month’s election. Town Clerk will sign off on a report stating that the Town will follow through on recommendations put forth to the best of their ability and submit this all through WEC’s online portal.
Town Clerk identified they have spoken with the Town Assessor, North Wisconsin Assessment Services, regarding Open Book and Board of Review dates proposed by the town board, in accordance with State statute. The Town Assessor confirmed that proposed dates work for them. Open Book set for April 29, 2025, at the Gingles Town Hall from 2-4 pm and Board of Review set for May 13, 2025, at the Gingles Town Hall from 6-8 pm.
Presentation by Cynthia Belmont- Ashland School Board: Cynthia Belmont informed Board that she is currently running for the Ashland School Board at large seat which will appear on the April 2025 election. Cynthia provided insight into what she hopes to accomplish, in the event she is elected to the Ashland School Board.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Roads:
- Spring Weight Limits: Ten-ton weight limits signs are posted within the Township.
- Open Bid Proposals for Beaser Project 2025: Chairman identified that two bid proposals were returned signed, sealed and all documents received by both companies. A bid proposal was submitted by Jake’s Excavating [out of Ironwood] for a total bid of $394,263.20 and a bid proposal submitted by Northwoods Paving [out of Ashland] for a total bid of $366,023.40. A motion was made by Pat Colgrove to accept Northwoods Paving as contractor for Beaser Road project. Motion was seconded by Tom Riemer, to approve. All in favor, motion carried. Town Clerk will send out letters to residents who live where the project is located to inform them about the upcoming work.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Date for Board Road Inspection and Planning: Chairman set a tentative date for Board Road Inspection and Planning to be on Friday, April 17, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Town Supervisors will review their schedule to ensure this works.
- Set Annual Meeting Date: A motion was made by Pat Colgrove to have Town of Gingles Annual meeting on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 7:00 pm. Motion was seconded by Tom Riemer, to approve. All in favor, motion carried.
- Public Comment: Town resident presented at meeting expressed concerns about increased garbage costs for private pick up and inquired if there is a possibility of garbage pickup at the Town Hall. Chairman provided insight on what he information he has obtained but reiterated that no decisions have been made on this, at this time.
- Building and Driveway Permits- None
- Operators/Liquor licenses- None
-The annual meeting will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 7:00 pm, with the regular monthly board meeting to follow immediately afterwards.
-The bills were submitted and authorized to be paid by Board signature.
