Meeting Minutes

The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, Patrick Colgrove. Tom Riemer, Traci Beiersdorff, Laura Martinsen and Bill Pearce were present. There were 7 people in public attendance.

  • The July 2025 meeting minutes were presented, and a motion was made by Bill Pearce, seconded by Tom Riemer to approve them as written. All in favor, motion carried.
  • The July 2025 Treasurer’s report was presented, and a motion was made by Pat Colgrove and seconded by Bill Pearce to approve the report as presented. All in favor, motion carried.

Comments by Clerk/Board – A motion was made by Bill Pearce to amend the agenda to move up building permits after comments by the Clerk/Board. Motion was seconded by Pat Colgrove to approve. All in favor, motion carried.

Town Chairman identified that he had to replace the sump pump again at the Town Hall. This continues to be an ongoing challenge. Chairman is working on trying to find a long-term solution.

Town Chairman also identified that he will be in contact with Enbridge to discuss a new road use agreement for the Line 5 project and that all permits will go through Enbridge. The Line 5 project is now storing materials in Superior vs. a local area within the township. More to come on this at future meetings.

Town Chairman also noted that there are some signs needing to be repaired within the township. He will be fixing them and putting up new ones likely in the next few days.

Town Clerk identified that there is a Wisconsin Towns Association fall workshop on Wednesday, September 17, at Lakewoods Resort in Cable. Town Chairman and Town Clerk both plan to be in attendance; Clerk will register both individuals.

Building/Driveway Permits: A motion was made by Bill Pearce to approve a building permit for Linford Miller. Motion was seconded by Tom Riemer to approve. All in favor, motion carried. A motion was made by Tom Riemer to approve a building permit for Dennis Mika. Motion was seconded by Bill Pearce to approve. All in favor motion carried. A motion was made by Bill to approve a building permit for Tom Doherty. Motion was seconded by Tom Riemer to approve. All in favor, motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:

  • Roads:
    • Beaser Project Report: Town Chairman has been in contact with Scott Campbell with Northwoods Paving regarding project updates. In about 2 weeks, shoulders will have a second pave. Chairman identified he fixed some loose gravel, and final shoulder will have compaction, which shouldn’t be a problem. Discussion regarding final wedge and paving. More to come on this at future meetings.
  • Wakefield/ABC Road Report: Town Chairman met with the Engineer of the project and went on a road trip with them to review project thus far. Most of the project is looking good; east end of ABC Road by Wakfield Road may need a little touch-up. Chairman also met with the original individual [Carl] for the project. Approximately 5-6 loads of gravel still needed and re-grading. Chairman confirmed he will work with Nick Nye to draft a proposal. Proposal will then be submitted to Carl and McCabe to review it. Additional information to come at future meetings.
